Headaches happen to everyone at some point in our lives with some being mild and others being downright debilitating. The easy fix is to grab a couple of aspirin and pull the covers over your head until it goes away, but there are some natural remedies for getting rid of a headache that you can try instead.
Headaches can be cause by all sorts of things from dehydration, too much alcohol, eye strain, stress, or chronic illness, but sometimes it can be triggered by a vitamin and mineral deficiency. Whatever the cause may be, we want to get rid of that headache fast, and preferably in a natural way.
I wrote about several natural remedies for headache relief that I have personally tried, and the definitely do work. But sometimes you don’t have the option to steam some essential oils at home, or have a bottle of lemon water on hand, which is why this headache relief roll-on stick is perfect for tossing in your bag when you’re on the go.
I like to use magnesium oil for this recipe because not only is it a great carrier oil, but the magnesium is said to actually help the absorption of essential oils into the skin for faster healing. It also works as a muscle relaxer and pain reliever, and I always keep a bottle of magnesium lotion around the house for just those reasons.
This recipe is really simple and easy to make, and it helps keep your hands clean without any mess. I usually make several of these and keep them around the house, in the car, and in my bag so I have one on hand whenever a headache strikes. They’re also really good for helping soothe a cold or flu, or anytime you’re feeling a bit under the weather.
They also make great gifts for anyone who regularly suffers from headaches or migraines. All the essential oils I have listed can be found on Amazon, but I also like to buy some of my oils in bulk from Mountain Rose Herbs. They have a ton of oils to choose from, and their quality is superb.
